In 1978, a small group of Catholic gentlemen congregated in an attempt to form a Knights of Columbus council in the small village of East Rockaway, NY.  Many members and even higher dignitaries said it couldn’t be done due to the fact that the area was already saturated with councils.  This small group of men pounded the streets for a year until they had enough members to create a council. 31 years later, through hard work and dedication these men have created a council that has flourished and will continue to grow with your help!  Feel free to browse the rest of the site to get a feel for our organization.

Knights are Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, who are committed to making their community a better place, while supporting their Church. Being a Knight is more than camaraderie; it is being involved with your community; it is supporting your local Catholic Church, while enhancing your own faith; it is about protecting and enhancing your family life.
